Sound Interwoven - Yew

This seasons Sound Interwoven invites you into winter’s stillness, where sound, silence, and the spirit of Yew guide a journey of release, remembrance, and renewal.

As we transition into the winter months, nature teaches us to slow; she invites us into still, quiet reflection. The trees release their final leaves, and the fungi quietly transform what has fallen, composting and renewing the soil before the frost comes to cradle the land in its deep slumber.

As the natural world sheds and lets die what no longer serves, we too are invited into this sacred act of release, to make space for the new growth that will come with spring's return. It is within this fertile darkness that new life is conceived, turning what has been into the rich soil that will nourish next year's growth.

For our final Sound Interwoven of the year, we are held by the mighty Yew tree, guardian of death and rebirth. Keeper of the threshold between this world and the Otherworld, Yew protects the ancestral spirits and offers us a place to lay down what must die within, and dream with the land before we can be renewed.

Once we have attuned to the spirit of Yew, we will guide you into a liminal sound journey, stirring the deeper layers of the soul. Afterwards, there will be space for sharing, reflection, and a blessing of ritual tea. Here, we honour grief as an intrinsic part of existence, together we remember what it means to be human, in relationship with all of life.
